Transforming Lubricant Production: ROLF Lubricants GmbH Announces Strategic Cooperation!
We are thrilled to share a massive highlight from our recent participation in the 2nd Lubricants Sustainability Forum in Amsterdam, organized by InventU.

Beyond the high-level panel discussions on e-mobility and shifting industry regulations, we put words into action: We have officially agreed on a strategic cooperation with Blendtek (powered by Weber Entec)! During the event, we closely inspected their innovative SonoMix Ultrasonic Blending System.
ROLF Lubricants GmbH highlights its participation in the 2nd Lubricants Sustainability Forum in Amsterdam, organized by InventU.
In addition to discussions about e-mobility and changing industry regulations, ROLF announced a new strategic cooperation with Blendtek, powered by Weber Entec.
During the event, the ROLF team examined Blendtek’s SonoMix Ultrasonic Blending System, a technology designed to change the way modern lubricants are produced.

How the technology works

Instead of conventional production methods that rely on mechanical stirring and thermal heating, SonoMix uses high-frequency acoustic cavitation to achieve mixing at the molecular level.
According to the article, this provides several important advantages:
1. Heatless Process — Cold Blending
The process does not require heating. ROLF states that this can result in more than 90% lower energy consumption compared with conventional production methods.
2. Superior Quality
The additives are dispersed directly at the molecular level. This helps prevent degradation and allows the lubricant components to achieve a high degree of homogeneity from the initial production passes.
3. Greater Flexibility
The system supports a “Blend as You Fill” approach, allowing production without minimum batch sizes and enabling fast product changes with minimal waste.
4. Scalability
A single modular unit can handle a flow rate of approximately 200 kg per minute, or around 12 tonnes per hour. Additional units can be added in parallel as production requirements increase.

Industrial application

ROLF emphasizes that this is not simply a laboratory concept. According to the article, acoustic cavitation technology has already been implemented in industrial environments and is being used to produce hundreds of millions of litres of finished lubricants annually.
The technology is presented as offering reductions in:
  • production time;
  • energy consumption;
  • carbon emissions;
  • production waste.

ROLF's sustainability strategy

The article connects the cooperation with ROLF's broader goal of developing more sustainable and energy-efficient lubricant manufacturing.
The company highlights the principle:
“The greenest kWh is the one you never use.”
By investigating the integration of SonoMix technology into its own operations, ROLF says it aims to establish a new approach to sustainable, carbon-neutral and highly efficient lubricant production.

Closing

ROLF thanks the InventU team, its new partners, and the people it met during the event.
The article concludes with the company's statement that the green transition has begun and ROLF is working to drive it forward.
